I’m a kind of person who loves listening to another person. And while doing that, I make sure I don’t judge people and I keep it confidential. I hail from the mountains and enjoy spending time near the ocean. Reading, writing and travelling keeps me contended. With many dreams to live and goals to reach, I am living every day intensely with a grateful heart.
My name is Ajay.
And The Reason Behind Let's Walk and Talk
To Fight Depression
For your kind information, every 40 seconds someone, somewhere in the world dies by suicide. In India, suicide causes 2.3 lakh deaths a year, and it is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 29-year-old. The primary reason for these deaths is depression, a lack of awareness of suicide as a major public health problem and the taboo in many societies to openly discuss it.
Speaking to a stranger can reduce the burden you carry because you can pour your heart without the fear of judging or ridiculing that most of the times happen with family and friends. It may not solve all your problems at once, but it makes you feel better for sure.
So, let’s walk and talk to fight depression.
To Help Charity
According to reports, India has two million non-profit organisations – one for every 600 people. But still…
1/3rd of the world’s hungry live in India. 836 million Indians survive on less than Rs. 20 (less than half-a-dollar) a day and over 20 crore Indians will sleep hungry tonight. Every year, 25 lakh Indians die of hunger, whereas malnutrition contributed to 7 million Indian children dying. 27% of deaths in India for want of medical attention.
Over 150 million children are working as bonded labourers without education and one out of every six girl children does not live to see her 15th birthday. The condition is worse for the voiceless animals.
Why does this happen? Because we ignore. There are many people in various organizations dedicating their life to help all those in need, but they lack support both financially and emotionally. They lack support because we ignore our fellow beings dying. Don’t let that happen. By walking and talking, you are helping someone, somewhere to have a better life.
So, let’s walk and talk to help charity.
To Experience Humanity
When was the last time you spoke to a stranger in person? Forget speaking, even sharing a genuine smile is rare where the days are ruled by LOL, ROFL, and emoticons to portray our emotions.
Though technology connects the entire world, it is true that we are slowly being cut off from the real human connection. Most of the beautiful relations we have in our lives, especially friends, were strangers until you talked to them. There are a lot more strangers waiting to become your friends if you can talk to them by trusting them.
Moreover, I want to prove that our world is a good place and there are many wonderful people with their own beautiful stories.
So, let’s walk and talk to experience humanity.
